Israeli Siano, China's Huaqi, CMBSat Join Hands for Mobile TV Platform

Siano, an Israel-based mobile TV chip developer, recently announced that it has signed a cooperation agreement with two Chinese firms - mobile phone maker Huaqi and CMBSat (China Mobile Broadcasting Satellite) - to jointly develop a platform for the CMMB (China Mobile Multimedia Broadcasting) mobile TV service in China.
Based on China's homegrown CMMB standard, issued by China's SARFT (State Administration of Radio Film and Television), this mobile TV platform will leverage Siano's expertise in advanced MDTV (Mobile Digital Television) chip solutions, Huaqi's know-how in manufacturing high-quality, low-cost, low-power mobile phones, as well as the S-band satellite capacity provided by CMBSat's.
